Yes, I'm leaving a 3 star review; BUT I almost skipped this book altogether after reading the blurb and the other reviews... IM GLAD I READ IT!IN defense if the author, because ONE reviewer implied that this was the only book in the series that does not follow the " Rogue is scary anti-hero leader how more or less didn't hand out cases that killed " an innocent " .." BUT THIS ISNT the first book to deviate from that grayish rule, its at least the 3rd, if you've read the series in order so far...And I'm leaving 3 stars because of that fact, however, if you don't go into the story assuming that precedent set that most the other authors followed, within a loose range of really, how do you write " a good guy hit man" story when umm by nature , hit men are by definition not set to question... That said I do like the theme that they generally take on contracts that get rid of the bader of the bad people... But this story turned out to be more enjoyable that one that had that moral code in firm place, not even a gray area, and that other one wasn't half as good as this... I didn't leave a review for it..So point being, I felt compelled to leave this knowing it would have been a 4. Or 5 star rating if it had that fun connecting thread that's woven through others in this series allowing us to enjoy camio appearances from character in past story's, but unfortunately, they can't be written in to a story line that deviates from that strict definition of how Rogues characters is written to be perceived as ... ECT...On a good note, if I went into this book without an established or preconceived notion of "who/defined characteristics" of certain people, it would have been like reading a MINK or Jenna Rose, darkish but somehow twisted with humor and romance ,... This book with Mia and Lucas was right in that ally, the twisted one that makes dark theme like "extreme stalker, or merdery tendencies" cute or funny in the name of love, rather than just WRONG on every level IF IT WASN'T A FRICKEN FICTIONAL ESCAPISM ROMANCE! But alas, that what these book are! So in that context, this book in the end was rather fun.... Including the bonus epilogue, its worth downloading, for those who skip them, I'd recommend not in this one😁
